Privacy Policy

Introduction

This document applies to the Prabhuvaani Android application and any related services we operate. By using Prabhuvaani, you acknowledge the practices described below. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and request deletion per Section IX.

Data Summary

Here is everything Prabhuvaani ever touches — nothing more lives on our servers:

Microphone & Audio Data

No transcripts are retained against your account. If a crash occurs mid-conversation, our diagnostic tools never capture audio payloads.

Authentication Data

We use Firebase Authentication to verify phone numbers via one-time password (OTP). Your number is stored only as an account identifier. It is never displayed inside the app to other users, never sold, and never used to send marketing SMS. We do not request or accept email addresses, social logins, or real names.

Usage & Device Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to capture anonymous crash reports and aggregated counts of app events (for example, "conversation completed" — never the content). These help us keep the app stable across the range of devices our community uses.

Explicitly, Prabhuvaani does not collect any of the following:

• Location (GPS, Wi-Fi, or IP-derived)
• Contacts, call logs or SMS history
• Calendar, photos, videos, or files
• Advertising identifiers or third-party cookies
• Biometric or health data

Donations (Daan Paatr)

Prabhuvaani is sustained by voluntary Daan of ₹21, ₹51, ₹101, or ₹501. The transaction is handed off entirely to your own UPI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, or any other — which authenticates the payment outside of Prabhuvaani.

We never see your card number, UPI PIN, bank account, or password. What we receive from the UPI rail is only a transaction reference and status. Donations are voluntary, non-refundable, and unlock no features — the app is identical for those who give and those who do not.

Third-Party Services

Prabhuvaani relies on the following services, each bound by their own privacy terms:

• Google Cloud & Firebase (hosting, authentication, crash diagnostics) — policies.google.com/privacy
• Google GenAI (Gemini) (speech understanding, conversational response) — policies.google.com/privacy
• Your chosen UPI app (payment processing, outside our servers)

There are no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels, no data brokers, and no social-media SDKs in Prabhuvaani.

Data Retention

• Phone number & account: retained while your account is active. Removed within 30 days of a deletion request.
• Conversation audio: never retained.
• Diagnostic logs: 90 days, then permanently purged.
• Donation records: retained as required by Indian tax law (currently 7 years), in anonymized aggregate form where possible.

Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have:

• The right to access the data we hold about you
• The right to correction of inaccurate information
• The right to erasure (see Section IX)
• The right to withdraw consent at any time — this will deactivate the app's functionality but will not affect past lawful processing
• The right to grievance redressal — see our Grievance Officer in Section XIV

Children's Privacy

Prabhuvaani is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If a parent or guardian believes a child has used the app, please email us — we will delete the account on confirmation, without requiring further proof.

Security

All traffic between your device and our services — including live voice streams — is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+. Firebase services are governed by Google's security posture. Access to production systems is need-to-know and logged; no employee or contractor has read access to your account data without an auditable reason. Perfect security does not exist, but we have built Prabhuvaani so that even a successful breach would yield remarkably little — because we store remarkably little.

Changes to this Policy

When this policy changes, we update the Last Updated date at the top. Material changes — anything that meaningfully alters what we collect or how we use it — are announced inside the app with a clear notice requiring acknowledgement before you continue. We will never quietly broaden our collection.
